Two Truths and a Lie
How well do you know our company values? See if you can spot which of these is false...
Our toys are:
-
Made from plants
-
BPA-free
-
Manufactured in Asia
Our beach toys are a lot of things – sustainable, because they’re made from plants using a compostable mostly-plant based polymer, and BPA-free (because parents have enough to worry about!). But did you know our toys are also manufactured in California? (Not Asia, that’s the lie!)
Why Made in the USA?
Why did we choose California to manufacture over someplace traditionally considered more affordable, like Asia? Because of our mission. In addition to reducing micro plastics in our environment, our goal is to lower the total carbon emissions from our product throughout our supply chain – that includes production. We chose a facility that is solar powered and located within the United States, which means its closer to our fulfillment center and closer to you, our customers, which lowers the carbon emission footprint when we ship to you.
In addition to creating and supporting local jobs in US communities, manufacturing in California allows for more oversight, fair wages for employees, and lower energy consumption. American-made supports our economy and aligns with our mission – reducing greenhouse gas emissions from start to finish.
Business Decisions with Intention
Every choice we make for these beach toys is intentional. We could have saved money and time by manufacturing overseas, but we would have had to stray from our mission. And at the end of the day, our mission is the reason we’re here – to make better products using better material to reduce micro-plastics and carbon emissions. These choices influenced our production time and costs in the short-term, but in the longer term we know we’re paving the way for a new materials economy and new customer expectations.
